I GUESS "LAND HURRICANE" IS ONE WAY TO PUT IT. In case you haven't heard it was officially the strongest non-tropical low we've seen in the Continental U.S. -  record low of 955.2 at Big Fork, MN. To put things in perspective - the storm was comparable to a category 3 hurricane. This storm has definitely surpassed some of the strongest historical storms in the upper midwest.

Pictures from Grand Marais, North Shore Lake Superior - 26 foot waves came ashore with sustained wind gusts in the 60 mph range.

DEB DOES HER FIRST MARATHON.  Ok so I didn't run in it, but I was a fabulous spectator/cheerleader.  The Twin Cities Marathon is touted to be The Most Beautiful Urban Marathon in America.  This year the 29th annual Medtronic Twin City Marathon was held October 3rd and my Niece, Erin and her husband Loren both participated in and finished the 26.2 mile course.  Loren had trained diligently for the race - hoping to qualify for the Boston Marathon next April.  8,211 runners completed the race and Loren crossed the finish line in 2 hours and 54 minutes - claiming spot #181. Lookout Boston - here we come.  We are so proud of both of them!!

Loren at mile 24.5

Erin at mile 24.5 - almost there!!

Grandma, Meghan and Ali running out of steam - after 5 hours of cheering on the runners.
