EVEN NOW; WITH A THOUSAND LITTLE VOYAGES UNDER MY BELT.
I STILL FEEL A MEMORIAL CHILL ON CASTING OFF.

The month of June was a blur - the Smith Compound was busy getting ready for the June 28th Celebration of Life party for Rick's sister Barb who passed away in January of this year in Phoenix. She was born in St. Paul, graduated from White Bear Lake High School and grew up in the house we presently live in. We thought it fitting to celebrate her life at our home on Bald Eagle Lake. Getting the two houses (Brad & Kates & ours) and the grounds ready for the big day and onslaught of out of town relatives staying with us, was to say the least overwhelming. But, it was all worth it - the weather the day of the party was beautiful (we had a tent just in case) and the week of family togetherness, chuck-full of activities, flew by. We were lost after they left - what no golfing, waterskiing, tubing, swimming, biking.... "I guess we will have to just talk to each other" -" ok, maybe not" - "I think I will read "- "I'm going to the garage". Seems we are somewhat back to normal now.

Hmmm - it's been a few years since we've used this tent...... let's see this end goes, no I think this end goes here. Needless to say after a little head scratching it eventually got up.
